Nina Andrijivna Sokolenko, born 1954 in Bila Tserkva, librarian, bibliographer and autor, since 2005 Chairwomen of the “Bila Tserkva Town Public Organisation” in Bila Tserkva in Ukraine.
Her organisation offers health and social assistance to orphans and children with heavy chronical deseases (like leukaemia, tumours, HIV, etc.) and organizes also international and national cultural events for children in the town.
Thanks to her great professionality and organizational talent which is equal to her honesty and huge spirit of goodness and solidariety for indigent children, Nina has build up a precious reputation in a very difficult and poor town like Bila Tserkva.
She is known by the people as a kind of “guardian angel” and the citizens pay her ful respect and admiration.
Tatiana, English teacher in a grammar school in Bila Tserkva, is working as volunteer collaborator for the organisation of Nina. She dedicates much of her free time to translate the international correspondence of the organisation. |
